Vance Salley aka 12th Doc

Born in the birthplace of hip-hop—the Bronx, New York—Vance Salley, better known by his stage name 12th Doc, has been spinning records and moving crowds since the age of 13. Now based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Doc brings decades of experience, deep musical knowledge, and a genuine passion for audio culture to every set he plays and every show he hosts.

Doc’s journey began with vinyl, microphones, and cassette tapes in the late '80s, eventually earning him on-air roles as an announcer at WSNC 90.5 FM during his high school years. Since then, his path has taken him through nightclubs in Florida, radio studios in Greensboro, and digital airwaves heard around the globe.

As a host and DJ for NeworldGlobalRadio.com’s midday morning musical show Atmospheres he currently curates and delivers compelling online radio content that bridges genres and generations. Previously, he served as Program Director for Organic Soap Radio, where he shaped the station’s sound and booked talent, all while handling the technical demands of live programming.

Doc’s DJ career includes residencies at popular venues like Tootsies Cabaret (Miami Beach) and Club Cheetah’s (Hallandale Beach), as well as countless private events and underground gigs. Known for seamlessly blending old-school soul with modern beats, Doc understands how to read a room and take it where it needs to go.

Armed with an Associate Degree in Entertainment Technology from Guilford Technical Community College and years of hands-on industry experience, Doc continues to evolve with the times—while staying true to the roots of the culture that raised him.
