About
Over the last twenty years, we have become known as one of the premiere bands playing the great music of the classic jazz era - the 1920s - 1940s, including Gershwin, Cole Porter and the other great composers of the American Songbook. Our music sets an elegant and fun atmosphere for dancing and simple enjoyment for any event, whether it be a wedding, birthday party, corporate event or just a party for no particular reason. You can check us out at www.ostwaldjazz.com or come to Birdland in midtown Manhattan any Wednesday at 5:30pm where we are now in our twentieth year of a weekly engagement.
The most consistent and uniform audience reaction we have received over the years is that our music makes people feel good. Being able to provide this service to people in a stressful world is enormously satisfying to me and my bandmates.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to hear about the purpose of the event and the number of guests. From there, I tailor the nature of the music depending on a variety of factors, such as whether or not there will be dancing and preferences for particular songs.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing system is flexible based on the size, nature and location of the event.
How did you get started in this business?
Sheer desire and an enormous love of music!
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have performed at jazz festivals, jazz clubs, weddings, birthday parties, funerals, swing dances and house parties.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently played a baby shower - what stood out to me was the universal enjoyment of the guests of all ages and generations. It proved to me that my band stands out as being capable of pleasing people across all boundaries.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Bear in mind that music makes an event more than anything else. Guests will remember the music more than the food or even the venue.
