Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Free in person consultations. I work very close with my clients to ensure I understand their specific needs!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Education...they have dj schools? I guess so, maybe I'll lean on 2022 being my 40th year as a mobile dj! That pretty much covers the education! Never late and never canceled.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My most popular package is priced at $1195.00 for 6 hours! We can go higher or lower depending on the clients specific needs. Examples would be Photo Booth, Video screens etc. I'm looking for the client that trusts a 40 year veteran dj can handle the job!
How did you get started in this business?
I've always been a lover of all genres of music. I actually have 2 additional years experience as a dj since I was doing school dances in 1980 with a single turntable! I could actually change a single 45 rpm record almost as fast as a dj mixing with two turntables! When I turned 20 I moved to Meadville Pa. My neighbor was a dj he was retiring and talked me into taking over his three night a week gig at Adairs T&R bar in Meadville, Pa. The rest is history!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with awesome customers from all walks of life! Mayors, Council Members, State Senators, Governor's and everyday people. I have a unique ability to fit in!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently filled in for a friend who was sick and couldn't cover a wedding. I had less than 24 hours to prepare. The Bride and Groom were so understanding and very easy to work with. They were also happy that I single-handedly saved their wedding day. It made me proud that even though it was last minute prep I pulled off a spectacular show! I was the Wedding Planner, Pastor and the DJ! We had an awesome time! I know now I was meant to be there! I mean, everything flowed as if I had planned the wedding for months!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Talk to the dj and see if he or she will be a good fit for your event. Also the most expensive dj isn't always the best! But the cheapest dj is always the worst!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. Make sure the dj has the right music for your event. Also that he or she takes request!
2. Make sure the dj has insurance.
3. The dj should have a back-up plan in the event something happens. ie: Back-up equipment onsite.
4. Trust your dj! he or she will be responsible for 75% of the success of the event.
5. Ask for a written agreement.
