Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
With new clients I like to have consultations. They are the best way for us to discover your past and where you would like to go with your hair. Being honest with each other is chi and having a good hair relationship. This is where we will get down to the nitty-gritty of your goals and be realistic about them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Ohio I have to take continuing education courses every year until I am 65 years old. There is all sorts of trainings that I am allowed to do from hair to waxing to nails to skin. I also take classes for more in-depth things like color, eyelash application, cutting, new products being released , Etc. I also have to take classes on human trafficking and upkeep of a salon.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices can be found on my vagaro website. Www.vagaro.com/Magichandsajt6 is where you can find the start of all my prices or by looking me up on Google my prices are also located there.
How did you get started in this business?
I found hair at a very young age, 10 years old to be exact. I always wanted these cool hairstyles so one day I got up and I did them on myself. The thrill to learn more began. It took me all the way up to the age of 19 when I enrolled and hair school and graduated 10 months laterm & received my license by the age of 20 and haven't looked back since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all types of people coming from different countries and having different textures.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to look for somebody who actually cares about your real hair. Someone who will really take the time out to figure out the real issues and come with real solutions. Find someone that will make you go the distance and try those hairstyles you thought you never would. I was always told by one of my mentors, if your stylist does not make you change then they are not a good stylist.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers should think about what they really want. Questions like what is my reality? What do I want my hair to look like today? What do I want my hair to be like in the future? What am I willing to do to get there? These are a few things client should ask themselves before seeing a stylist. You have to be open-minded and honest in this type of relationship.
