Kelley was a key part in making my wedding reception a success! She was so easy to work with, communicated with us throughout the whole planning process, and made sure that we heard the music we wanted to hear. During the reception itself, she ensured that events moved along in a timely manner and stayed on track. After the dance floor opened, it didnt empty until the lights came on and it was time for people to go home! What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to spend time getting to know a new client before talking details of their event. I prefer to sit face to face with someone so I can truly get to know them. I think it's really important to have that personal connection with someone not only to make sure you're the right fit for their event but it helps taking their event to the next level with all details.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Weddings start at $1,200 for my services. This includes a top of the line sound system, Dance Floor lighting, and uplighting to go around the perimeter of your room. There are no hidden fees! You also will get access to my online music portal where you will be able to select all the music that you want to hear, including custom songs. We will sit down many times in person to make sure we plan the perfect night for your special day!

For all other types of events (theme parties, class reunions, corporate gatherings) my rates start at $400 depending on the length of your event and the equipment that is needed.

How did you get started in this business?

I admit I couldn't (and still can't!) dance. So when I went to the clubs I would stand behind the DJ and thought how neat it was. The DJ played a song that made everyone go crazy and I got goosebumps. I knew right then and there that I wanted to be a DJ.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of clients. While most of my clients go the "classic" route for their events, I have been asked to DJ some really fun themed weddings such as Star Wars, Movie Soundtracks, and Showtunes. DJ For All Occasions can cater to any request you have no matter how big or small. We also are partnered with many other types vendors and work very closely with them. So if you need a fantastic makeup artist, wedding hair, or want a photo booth to elevate your event to the next level, we can provide you with wonderful referrals.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Before you commit to your DJ, I would highly recommend that you sit down with them in person and get to know them on a personal level. Really connect to make sure that they are going to be the best fit, really understand your needs, and listen to you. If your DJ isn't willing to sit down with you as many times as it takes to make sure your event is perfect, that should be a red flag. Your DJ should also not charge you for any in person meetings. This is part of building the relationship.
