Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We welcome you by exploring your needs or curiosities. We work full specrtum with customizing a design as unique and special as yourself. Whether you provide us with an image, we colaborate ideas, or even create a custom image for you, we artisically interprit your idea. Once we have your idea in place, we provide you a professional design at a very competetive and respectful price. We're making a living, not a killing. Above all, there are NO stupid ideas, merely untapped ideas. At Bellevue Tattoo Emporium, YOU'RE the rockstar not the staff!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have a combined 30 years of experience bewteen the two of us.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Many people ask us how we arrive at a price. It really boils down to 3 factors, physical location, size, and complexity. The combination of the three dictates that generally, we must see what your idea is and how it is effected by those elements. In the event of a portrait or something very large, we charge an hourly rate of $150 per hour (pretty much the industry standard these days). If the design can be achieved in three hours or less, we most often can assign a flat price.
How did you get started in this business?
Speaking for myself, Tom Chisholm, back in 2000, my brother had opened a tattoo studio in Orlando. He wanted another artist for his business, so I began my career.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We get all ages (18 and over) from 18- 98. Tattoo clients come from every age, and walk of life. Many of them are right in front of you, and you may be surprised who you know who has them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We enjoyed opening Bellevue's first ever Tattoo studio in this area of West Nashville, and the surrounding area such as Pegram, Kingston Springs, Fairview, Charlotte, White Bluff, and Ashland City
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Seek out an artist that has a connection with what you would like to have done. Often artists have specific strengths or passions
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Be sure that a tattoo is something you have made with convinction, then see what kind of work they do, look at their portfolios
