Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We must communicate and connect well enough to set real expectations and guidelines for the event in order to ensure smooth execution as well as allowing the customer the peace of mind knowing that my job will be done at a very high level.
After the agreement, I'll need 50% up front as a deposit to add the event to my calendar.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
40 years as a mobile DJ, club jock as well as studio producer and engineer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
$100-$150/hr is my rate depending on location, venue and number of attendees. These variables can affect this rate due to the type of setup required to properly service the event. If this is above what you're willing to pay, I understand your need to keep looking.
How did you get started in this business?
I was working for an accounting firm in the mail room as a senior in high school. For Christmas, my manager gifted me a Realistic Mixer from Radio Shack. I purchased 2 turntables myself and within a year, I went from practicing in my living room, to doing house parties in my neighborhood. I was 17 years old at the time.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Urban, suburban, corporate, youth organizations, retirement communities, nightclubs, skating rinks, school functions, holiday events, and the list goes on. As a 17 year old, deejayed at Lady Pearl although I wasn't old enough to get into the club, they hired me for a 3 year run while I was also doing frat parties in college at UT Arlington.
From there, I was featured on KNON (Nippy Jones) and K104 (Yvonne St. John) as a featured mixshow DJ...
Helped transform Fast Times Skating Rink into teen club called Countach. Worked for 2 years with Dr Rock and K104fm broadcasting live on Saturday nights from 10pm-2am.
Since then, I've worked at various clubs in Deep Ellum, (Trees & Americana), Oak Cliff (Rocket Skate Palace).
