Capricorn Enterprises Event Design was formed 16 years ago. After planning and managing events for Non-Profits, Chambers of Commerce, Library Foundation Boards and other entities, I decided that being a member of the respective boards was great but...as an officer of the Non-Profit, etc. you are prohibited from chargiong for your services. Thus...Capricorn Event Designs was born.
EVERYTHING! I love the planning, decorating, flower arranging,and setting the stage for corporate dinners, fundraisers, sales meetings, awards ceremonies and even Instalation of Corporate Officers and Corporate Election monitoring (I have a background as a Parliamentarian) I especially like to see everyone eating good food, and enjoying great entertainment. My favorite job is...Wedding Officiant. I love to marry people.
My most favorite event was July 23, 2015 when I was Food and Beverage Director for the World Special Olympics Host Town here in Monterey Park and prepared luncheon in our Barnes park Facility for 197 German Delegates which morfed into 300 guests that afternoon. It was a great joy for me to meet and provide hospitality for so many talented young people. (The delegates loved the tamales they had never had them before) All of the guests really enjoyed the food and the merchants here in Monterey Park were so gracious..when the delivery staff went out to pick up food, all of the invoices were returned PAID IN FULL. I was very proud of our city.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
LISTENING. First I listen to what the customer wants, then I ask about the budget provided for the services. Capricorn has a motto: "We Design Your Dreams". I try to fulfill all of the customers wishes (within budget) and plan and manage a great event for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have the special education that comes with knowledge, service continuing seminars and webinars about event services, I try to keep abreast of all of the newest technology including planning sites that provide contracts, a budgeting format, vending areas, etc. My first event was at 11 years old as a Girl Scout in Chicago where I earned my first Merit Badge for Cooking for arranging a Scout /Parents dinner with menu planning, table settings, cooking, and serving. ( I cooked my best meal at that age, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, and rolls)

No. Each event is priced according to the type of event, the number of guests, number of staff I will need, and theme or reason for event.
The only standard pricing is for my services as a Wedding Officiant.
