About

With over 20 years of being an ordained minister under my belt and twelve years of theological education, I will handle any eventuality with grace, humor, and style.

You've looked at other officiants and celebrants and are impressed. It's crossed your mind, however, that these are just cookie-cutter ceremonies that they crank out--changing out names and perhaps pronouns. You want something more tailored to you and your personality.

I specialize in negotiating diverse (if not divergent!) political and religious perspectives within a family. Regardless of past conflict, I will work with couples to craft a meaningful and polished ceremony that pulls the families together.

My wedding ceremony was quick and easy like how I planned. My fiancé and I eloped, and having Daniel available and present was a blessing. He made the process fun and light whilst being professional. There was easy communication using the app to book the event. My day was a happy day thanks to Daniel. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a memorable day.

    Frequently asked questions

My intake process involves a complimentary meet-and-greet session, negotiating the contract, reserving the date with a deposit, and signing the contract. The creative process involves at least one zoom session together and a confidential questionnaire—both of which help me write your bespoke ceremony. The result always brings both tears and laughter, as your story becomes the centerpiece of your ceremony—not my wittiness or comedic timing.
With over 20 years of professional ministerial experience, a divinity school education, and a doctorate in ministry, I am ready for any scenario. As an ordained Pastor of Third Congregational Church in Middletown, CT, I am authorized to perform wedding ceremonies in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. Unlike a local justice of the peace or an officiant with just an online ordination, this is what I trained for, preparing me to handle any eventuality with grace, humor, and style.
I charge a base fee plus an additional amount if you need me to run a rehearsal or say the blessing at the rehearsal dinner or reception. Above 40 miles each way (included), I also follow the IRS mileage reimbursement rate. Ask me about my reduced base rate.
I knew I was called to ministry since I was 6 years old. This is my first and only career.
None of my ceremonies are identical. Each ceremony is bespoke according to your stated preferences. In 2020, I got to participate in a RPG-themed wedding. But my favorite wedding was with two of the residents of the assisted living where I served as chaplain. They got married over Thanksgiving weekend and made all the local papers! And in March 2021, one of my weddings made the cover of the NYT Style Section.
Ask officiants how many times they’ve used their standard script. I write your ceremony from scratch, highlighting *your* story—not some hack script.
    - Decide if you just want a “vendor” and don’t care much about the quality of your ceremony… or a minister who can make the ceremony the highlight of your most important day. - Figure out if you want help writing your own vows. - Decide if you want a unity ceremony (included if you desire) such as the unity candle, the sand ceremony, planting a tree, etc. - Do you want to honor any grandparents, parents, siblings, or close friends whose time on this earth was too short?
