What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Born and raised in West Baltimore, I come from a family where fashion and blue-collar craftsmanship run deep. Merging these two influences felt natural, leading me to pursue formal training at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I earned a BFA in Fashion Design.
After graduation, I apprenticed under a master tailor at Nordstrom, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in tailoring and garment construction. I later launched an accessory company before returning to tailoring, where I find true fulfillment.
My passion lies in creating wardrobe solutions that build confidence. I understand the anxiety many face when shopping or getting dressed, and I aim to transform those experiences into moments of self-assurance and personal style. We want our client to feel comfortable as possible.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer standard pricing for common alterations, but costs can vary based on factors like the garment’s condition, construction, and initial fit. To ensure transparency and the best possible results, I maintain an open-door policy with complimentary consultations—giving clients the chance to explore their options without any obligation.
How did you get started in this business?
I was raised by a single mother who faced her challenges but always found a way to make things work. One summer, she couldn’t afford both camp and a sitter, so she trusted me to stay home while she worked. Just two days after school ended, I broke a car window and ended up grounded for the entire summer. During that time, I immersed myself in video games, tried my hand at cooking, and played the piano constantly. My mom, who sewed to make ends meet, always had a sewing machine set up in our dining room. One day, I started experimenting with altering my own clothes, and from then on, I couldn’t pull myself away. Even when I was allowed outside, I stayed inside, engrossed in sewing. It became my therapy, my escape, and my saving grace. From there, I explored every facet of sewing, and it eventually led me to open Bushelers of Baltimore.
What types of customers have you worked with?

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Currently, we're entering the teaching phase of our business, aiming to help at-risk youth channel their creativity. I was once that child, struggling to find a place to nurture my love for sewing. Now, I want to create an opportunity for others to explore their passions and express themselves through this craft.
