What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Following the initial email or phone conversation, I like to meet in person or via video conference so that the couple and I can get to know one another. I like to learn their love story and discuss a preliminary ideas for the couple's personalized vows.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA degree communications and a Master's in Business Administration. I am a member of the International Association of Professional Wedding Officiants (IAPWO) I am ordained with Universal Life Church Ministries.
Additionally, I have been approved as a Notary Public and am awaiting my commission date.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My officiant fee averages $375 for a wedding held on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Weekday cermeonies qualify for a discounted rate. Rates for vow renewal, commitment, or elopement ceremonies receive a lower rate as well. Call or email for exact event pricing.
There is an additional charge for rehearsal assistance of $75.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always enjoyed working with people and love planning events; especially weddings. After completing my MBA, I decided to start a wedding officiant business. Thus the concept of Entwined Vows was born!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with friends and relatives in wedding planning. I officiated a friend's wedding and based on feedback - it went very well so I decided to give it a go professionally.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My oldest daughter was married in November 2015. I did not officiate at her wedding but was able to get much advice from the a seasoned veteran officiant with 30 years expereince who presided over their ceremony. I continue to seek advice from Dr. Chance.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Meet in person if possible or at least by video chat. Your officiant should be a good fit for what you are seeking in terms of personality and presentation.
Find out what is included in the price, cancellation policy, and back up plan if your officiant cannot do your ceremony for whatever reason.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
Think about what you want in your ceremony - traditional or contemporary? Religious - or Not? You really don't have to worry too much about this because that's what your officiant does; help guide you from planning all the way through to your wedding ceremony.
