About
We are an Old Catholic Parish in the American Apostolic Old Catholic Church. We perform full wedding masses for both hetero and same-sex or differently -gendered couples because we are a fully inclusive Catholic Church. We do not require annulments so we will perform full wedding masses for second marriages, also. We have open communion so all guests can receive and we are willing to work with you to incorporate traditions and meaningful practices. We do simple, nondenominational weddings to full traditional nuptial masses. Membership in our church is not required. We believe that the sacraments are open to all. Bishop is friendly, an award-winning speaker, and easy to work with. We are here to serve you.

It was my pleasure to co-officiate a wedding with Bishop Kristina Rake a few years ago. Her warmth, sensitivity and genuine connection to spirit was felt by everyone in attendance. In a very public place, she created sacred space for the couple to be blessed with holy union. Her service and prayers were heart centered, touching and personable.

Kristina is amazing! Such a sweetheart, and so easy to work with. She helped make our wedding so special. She did over and above anything we expected.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First contact is made by email. We will schedule a phone call with the couple and anyone they are including in wedding planning. I can assist with vows and rituals and am happy to perform a wedding with a full Catholic Mass or a unique & quirky ceremony and anything in between. I have performed weddings at haunted locations, outdoors, in halls, and in churches. I perform weddings for couples from all walks of life and am happy to perform ceremonies for members of the LGBTQIA+ community; renewal of vows; commitment ceremonies; and engagement ceremonies. I will help you incorporate special cultural traditions and members of the family are welcome to participate in any way you wish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been clergy for 11 years and have worked in churches for 25 years. I have a Masters Degree from Andover Newton Theological School. I am the archbishop of a global Independent Catholic Community, pastor of a small church, consultant for movie studios, and an author. My wide experience in public speaking and media has helped me maintain a light and joyful mood for participants and to put people at ease.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We request a donation made to the church in the amount of $300 (plus $50 for travel for locations more than 45 minutes away).
How did you get started in this business?
It is part of the ministry of a priest to offer the sacrament of marriage. However, my church's ecumenical and non-judgmental spirit spurs us to offer marriage to those who have been wounded by the church and want a spiritual experience without the institutional laws and regulations related to a wedding event.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types, all ages, from first marriages to 4th marriages. Same -sex, transgendered, and straight. Those with children participating. Those with pets participating. Halloween costume weddings; haunted location weddings; traditional weddings.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I performed a wedding in a haunted house, with the Bride and Groom dressed in period attire. It was a lot of fun as the couple had a tremendous sense of humor. I also performed a wedding on the steps of a building with a Cherokee Shaman and a Jewish Interfaith Minister. All three of us performed the ceremony together, as the couple had an eclectic spirituality.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the officiant is willing to work with your preferences, personality, and situation. Also ask to see public appearances by the pro to make sure they have a personality that "fits" with the occasion. If you and your family tend to have a sarcastic sense of humor, a somber minister will be difficult to work with and vice versa. The officiant sets the tone for the event, and should make people feel included, drawing them into the moment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ensure that the officiant is willing to keep to your preferences. Make sure they are comfortable including children, pets, disabled family, etc. If you aren't sure what the ceremony will eventually look like, ask the minister for their worst experience at a wedding. This will give you a sense of the limitations on their patience and tolerance.
