How did you get started in this business?
I've spent my whole life on the pursuit of religious happiness, experiencing many faiths and backgrounds. My husband was in the process of attending seminary and I thought it would be great to get involved a few Google searches later, I realized that an ordained minister was a better path for me personally than joining a religious teaching program. My passion is to be of service and what greater way than to help couples with the spiritual and legal validity of their love. I became ordained by the American Marriage Ministry and I did the research about how to legally marry couples in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Where do I begin… I love sharing the love story of couples. Being an ambassador spreading joy, love, and appreciation of this great privilege in bearing witness to the deep connections shared in partnerships and among their community of loved ones, what a honor.
A few of my favorites are couples who have found love again, or those who already have the children and the home and say “let’s get married today” (usually 3 days after applying for marriage license). Fun couples in general, those who make each other laugh and just want to have a good time. Oh and, couples who finish each other’s thoughts - I get a real chuckle.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy a romantic fairytale union but the weddings that brightens my heart are the loves that almost didn’t make it. The love that felt like a lifetime to show up- the joining of two communities and families.
