What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will do a rushed, last minute, wedding if you want to. Otherwise, once we agree on date, time and fee, I strongly encourage pre-marital counseling of 3-6 sessions at no additional fee.

The couple may choose from a number of wedding services and vows, or they may craft their own. The full order of the service, with everything I will say, is presented to the couple for review and approval before the wedding day.

If any additional ideas such as blended family, sand bottle, knots, unity candles, water, and other symbolic acts and rituals are to be used in any particular way, we shall find a way to make it all happen.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

What you get includes premarital counseling, crafting the wedding with you, the wedding service, and life-long marriage counseling (as long as I am alive). What will this cost you?

$500

I will travel 50 miles, round trip, at no additional cost. Longer distances are negotiable, but no more than .50 cents a mile.

I will travel anywhere, such as destination weddings, if you will pay to get me there and back.

How did you get started in this business?

I am an ordained minister who does many kinds of weddings, often in challenging situations - inter-religious, culturally sensitive, elderly couples, not religious people, etc.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

It is YOUR day not theirs. Never settle. They can always make it work if they try.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Trust me, you need pre-marital counseling.

Know the difference between rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Your officiant has no clue what you want if you have the rehearsal without them.

Be crystal clear and specific about rehearsal dinners and receptions. You don't have to invite the officiant, but if you do invite them, and they accept, that is not part of the compensation.

Be sure you pay the pro before the event.
