What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will do a rushed, last minute, wedding if you want to. Otherwise, once we agree on date, time and fee, I strongly encourage pre-marital counseling of 3-6 sessions at no additional fee.

The couple may choose from a number of wedding services and vows, or they may craft their own. The full order of the service, with everything I will say, is presented to the couple for review and approval before the wedding day.

If any additional ideas such as blended family, sand bottle, knots, unity candles, water, etc., rituals are to be used in any particular way, we shall find a way to make it all happen.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ph.D. Ordained Minister, 25 years in active full-time service. University instructor and church pastor.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

What you get includes premarital counseling, crafting the wedding with you, the wedding service, and marriage counseling as long as I am alive. What will this cost you? 10% of the total of whatever you are paying for the venue, the food, wedding planner(s) and flowers combined. This means if your wedding is costing you $100, you will pay me $10; if $1000, you will pay me $100; If it is costing you $30,000 you will pay me $3000. I will travel 60 miles at no additional cost. Longer distances are negotiable I will travel anywhere, such as destination weddings, if you will pay to get me there and back.

How did you get started in this business?

In am an ordained minister who does many kinds of weddings, often in challenging situations - inter-religious, culturally sensitive, elderly couples, not religious people, etc.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Educated. Inter-religious/Interfaith. Inter-cultural/multicultural. Elderly couple (recently officiated for a 75 and 81 year old couple) If I cannot do it very well, I will not accept to do it at all.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

The wedding of a Jewish person with a Muslim person. The wedding of a Catholic and a Protestant. The wedding of autistic persons. The wedding of an elderly couple who had both lost spouses of several decades.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

It is YOUR day not theirs. Never settle. They can always make it work if they try.
