After he passed away I couldn't think of a better way to honor him than by sponsoring a jazz and WWII commemorative event in his honor. We contacted the Full Count Big Band about the plans. John was very easy and enthusiastic to work with. The band even worked on one of my Dad's favorite charts, "Flying Home," to play at our brief memorial for family at the event's conclusion and played other favorites of his throughout the afternoon.
