    Frequently asked questions

Learn more about their palate, the foods that they're used to eating, foods that they hate and spice level, etc.

I am actually self taught ! I am Food protection certified. I picked up a few things from the internet as far as presentation , but I season the food from my heart !

I do have a catering menu which I use to price my events. It all depends on how many people I am catering for.

At first , it just started as me cooking for myself and my partner. Eventually I started creating things that I haven't seen before and my friends began to react differently to my food. I started getting requests to cook for close friends and family. One day I just took the leap of faith to launch The Rasta Pasta Lady.

I've catered for a summer type party, I've done multiple pop up shops , including my own pop up shop. I've catered for small get togethers, ladies night, and thanksgiving events. I've also catered a few dinners and parties at a venue in Queens,NY called Space 224.

I recently hosted my own pop up shop and it was a great success ! Everyone loved the food and the drinks. I also have a few signature cocktails that I am known for and sometimes when people order food/catering they also order drinks.

I would advise them to be very transparent in their needs and expectations. Sometimes people expect their caterers to be mind readers and we're not. If you like spicy food, we need to know that. If you have a party and you have people who are pescatarian but also people who eat meat, we need to know so we can discuss your options. Also , customers should keep in mind that our prices include the cost to buy the groceries but also our labor.

What type of event am I hosting ?

Who is this event for ?

What kind of food will "WOW" my guests ?

Can I find this type of food elsewhere ?

Am I looking for basic catering or quality catering ?
