Coming from humble beginnings , and being raised by a single working mother of 5 children I spent most of my time in my grandmother's kitchen, where she was constantly cooking up new savory dishes from the South. I started to help her with chores around the kitchen, and soon developed a love for the different techniques used to roll out soft pastry dough, and the spices used in marinating chicken legs. I was inspired by how food can tell a story and convey cultural ideas, as well as how it brings people together.
