What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The choice of the suit is a moment of intimacy, the expression of personality. With Duca Sartoria, the customer is accompanied throughout the process, consisting of few essential steps:
- FABRIC SELECTION
Each fabric brings you to a specific pattern and the personalization of every single detail.
- MEASUREMENT SESSION
Once each detail is selected, we go through the fitting process with our exclusive Custom Made-to-Measure System.
- CRAFTING
The tailoring process takes approximately five weeks to create a suit to the exact standards of Duca Sartoria.
- FINAL FITTING
Once the suit arrives from Italy, we will arrange the final fitting at our customer convenience. If alterations are needed, we will take care of them in New York with our in-house master tailor.

Duca Sartoria represents years of experience in the fine Italian tailoring tradition, as well as consummate personal service and a maniacal commitment to exemplary, innovative wardrobe craftsmanship.
MAX GIROMBELLI
Owner Max Girombelli represents the third generation of a family that has been in the fashion industry for over half a century, an enduring testament to their commitment to elegance and style.
His uncle is credited with having discovered a talented young designer named Gianni Versace, and his father and older brother worked closely with Italian couturier Valentino Garavani; Moschino; Marithé + François Girbaud, Enrico Coveri and more.
The family’s company was Max’s playground when he was growing up, as a young boy he was paid “cento lire” to remove the dust from jackets’ shoulders. He began to admire the house tailors who worked on the most beautiful fabrics with passionate mastery.
After working for many years in the fashion industry, Girombelli struck out on his own, returning to the roots of fashion: tailoring.
He took over an old custom made-to-measure atelier in Milan, and transformed in the New Custom Made To Measure of today.
Girombelli is based full time in New York and also present in Dubai during the year.
