MusiChris DJ & Lighting Service
About
My service is a boutique one, performing at just one event per day. That alone makes me unlike most other DJ services. The care and attention I pay to my clients go way beyond most other DJs, and it shows in my online reviews. I've won all kinds of awards for customer satisfaction, and I'm humbled to have the support of venue referrals from nearly every major event venue in my area.
While I specialize in weddings, and have a calendar mostly filled with of those, I DJ events of every kind as long as I'm still available that day. Because of all of this, my rate structure is on the higher end compared to many DJs. And our of fairness to everyone, I post my rates directly on my website. This is a rarity too in this industry.
I enjoy everything about the work I do from marketing myself, managing my online presence, making sure I'm able to be found, being interviewed, ensuring swift communication and a smooth booking process. All that happens before I even load up any gear or hit play! Actually DJing is where I excell. It's a dream job--and I'm blessed to do it full time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An in person or telephone interview is the first step. Then I hold the date for up to 14 days so the client can come to a confident decision, without any pressure. The booking process ends with a contract and deposit of 1/3.
From there, the process varies depending on the type of event and how heavily I'm involved in it. But the process typically includes a few questionnaires, a trip or two to the venue if needed, and a few more client meetings, all prior to the event itself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in business management and over 25 years experience as a mobile DJ. In those years, I've seen it all! Today, I DJ full time and have for the last few years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Nonwedding events start at $699. Wedding events start at $1299. These rates include up to 5 hours of performance time. There are lots of a-la-carte options to enhance your event. Everything from making a contract longer, to adding music in a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th space, to wide range of upscale lighting and decor enhancements.
How did you get started in this business?
My dad was in a wedding band to over 25 years! He had a lot of gear laying around and I couldn't keep my hands off it. One thing led to another and here I am!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked for LOTS of couples and their families at weddings. That's what I do mostly. BUt I've also worked for all of the major employers and nonprofits in my area. I've worked for all kinds of camps, schools, and youth organizations of every kind. But weddings are what I do mostly, young couples, older couples, same sex weddings, you name it!
