About
I have over 35 years experience and have done all types of sewing. My specialty has been bridal and women's formal wear, but I also do many types of alterations and dressmaking. My business has always been built by word of mouth and I have hundreds of satisfied customers and many references.
I taught myself to sew when I was just 8 years old on an old treadle machine that fascinated me. I of course have evolved to using many types of machines over the years and currently enjoy creating designs and completing alterations on a selection of top end computerized models. A far cry from my meager beginnings!
My love for sewing has lead me down many paths and I have created items such as home decor, custom fire proof racecar driver suits, dance and equistrian costumes to my specialty, bridal and formal wear for women and children. I also offer alteration services for just about anything.
My goal has always been to provide excellent customer service, flawless work and a fair price to my client. I would be delighted if you would consider me for your next sewing project!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss over the phone what their alteration needs are, then schedule an in person fitting. Alterations can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. I always consider how quickly the client needs the item(s) and have never missed a deadline!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self-taught and also trained for 7 years under a master seamstress in a bridal shop
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have base prices for many items such as pant and jean hems and also a tentative list for bridal and formal wear alterations. Prices can be tentatively quoted over the phone, but an actual firm quote requires fitting the client in person.
How did you get started in this business?
I was a stay at home mom who loved to sew and began doing projects for family and friends. This quickly blossomed into running my own home based sewing and alteraton business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Everyone from race car drivers, local television celebrities, dance and guard teams, equastrians to brides, bridesmaids, MOB and MOG, and many more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Honestly with Covid, I have not attended an event in the last year.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Please be sure to get a firm quote prior to authorizing alterations or creation of your garment. Also look for someone who has experience and satisfied clientele and who is able to offer references upon request.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
If your needs are simple alterations and repairs such as hemming slacks, jeans, sewing on buttons, replacing zippers, etc. it is pretty straight forward.
If your need is for alterations such as bridal gowns, it is always best to look to your seamstress to know exactly what you need when they fit your gown. Many times, brides think they just need a hem and bustle, but when I begin pinning the gown and they feel how much better it fits in other places they are very pleased.
