About
I provide professionally delivered and personalized wedding ceremonies that celebrate your relationship. I take time to create a unique wedding ceremony that reflects who you are and the story of your love.
I enjoy surprising couples with creative ceremonies. While all wedding ceremonies have things in common, I take the time to get to know you and learn about your story of love. This enables me to create a wedding "homily" (a short inspirational message that gives personal meaning to your moment) that you will remember and that your guests will love!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I use Zoom (virtual online meeting) for interviews or in person meetings for couples to meet me and I can share how I provide services as a wedding officiant. I share a wedding ceremony planning document to help couples create their ceremony.
Once selected, I meet with the couple (Zoom or in person) and help them use the ceremony planner to outline the specifics of their ceremony. I also spend time hearing about the couple's relationship story, which enables me to create a unique homily for their wedding ceremony. I also offer consultation about ceremony rituals and readings they may wish to use in their ceremony.
I send the couple a copy of the draft of their ceremony for editing or approval.
I stay in touch with the couple, especially as the wedding date approaches, to ensure good communication.
Once the wedding is concluded, I sign the certificate and describe how they can obtain certified copies of their county-issued wedding cerfificate, and then I mail the certificate to the Courthouse.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Theology and a Master's of Divinity degree from Andrews University Seminary. I have 5 years experience as an ordained pastor and 32 years experience as a certified chaplain in healthcare, and 4 years experience as a college chaplain. I have conducted over 350 wedding ceremonies for couples.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge based on the kind of ceremony a couple desires.
For an "Elopement" ceremony (a short ceremony and signing their wedding certificate and license) I charge $75.
For an informal ceremony (in a home or park) I charge $125, which includes travel, no rehearsal and a personalized wedding ceremony. I also meet with the couple using Zoom to plan their ceremony.
For a formal ceremony in a formal setting and a rehearsal, I charge $225. This includes meeting with the couple, the rehearsal, travel, and signing their license and certificate.
For weddings that involve considerable travel (more than an hour travel time one way) I charge an extra $50 to cover my travel expenses.
How did you get started in this business?
I began conducting weddings as a young pastor and chaplain in a college setting. I have always had plenty of opportunity to conduct weddings by virtue of my calling and work; however, in the last 5 years, I created my own business conducting weddings, approximately 40 per year since then.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with military couples, young couples, couples finding love late in life, and couples who find love again after a previous marriage. I am an equal opportunity wedding officiant and provide weddings for same sex couples, inter-racial, and inter-faith relationships.
