Cookin with Phlava: Bringing Healthy Eats and Flavorful Flair to the Community
In March 2024, friends Brittany Exum and Mokneka Green founded Cookin with Phlava, a new
food venture with a mission to introduce their community to healthy, delicious meals made with
fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. As mothers of four children each, Brittany and Mokneka
understood firsthand the challenges of ensuring families eat well, which inspired them to create
an accessible and affordable solution.
The idea for Cookin with Phlava was sparked by the duo's work with a local youth organization
serving underprivileged populations in the BIPOC community. Witnessing the need for nutritious
food options, they were determined to make a difference. Their menu reflects this dedication,
featuring an array of wholesome items like salads, wraps with homemade dressings, fruit cups,
infused waters, and nourishing smoothies. Cookin with Phlava also offers pre-prepared meals
and catering services to cater to busy families.
