About this pro

We are one of the best rated tattoo shops in Portland, Oregon. At my shop our three priorities are making sure the client has a really good experience, sanitary work environment and high quality art.

I mainly work on American traditional, Japanese traditional and abstract but am not limited to that.

I am an award winning artist and have been tattooing since 2009 and have worked in many different tattoo establishments all across America.

I have tons of custom flash and can also design your tattoo just for you.

A little bit about me, I have a wife and three little kids, I practice martial arts and I love everything tattoo and occasionally like to play video games when not creating tattoos

my Instagram is @tattooer_sprance.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically I converse through email with a client. If they would like to have an in-person consultation first, it is free and is scheduled the same way as an appointment which is to call New Rose Tattoo’s front desk @503-236-7878. To book an appointment there is a $100 deposit that is deducted from your final cost of the tattoo.

I also explain aftercare, and give one free touch up that is valid for 1 year.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 11 years experience as a tattoo artist and have worked beside some of the best artists in the industry. Tattooing is not just about raw artistic talent, most of the difficult part of making a tattoo is knowing how to apply clean, solid lines and bold color. The technical aspect of making the art by hand on the human body is something that takes time and constant attention. I believe I have achieved what I set out to do as an artist and a craftsman dedicated to giving my clients a great piece of art as well as a really fun trip to the tattoo shop.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Shop prices are $100 minimum and $160/hour, anything under $300 is usually priced by piece rather than time.

Watercolor styled designs start at $200 and add $160/hour for each additional hour of work.

How did you get started in this business?

I listened to my mother! When I told her my career path wasn’t making me happy she told me to do something that I enjoyed. And so I started the incredibly hard journey of acquiring an apprenticeship in the pursuit of artistic freedom.
