What types of customers have you worked with?
I've had the opportunity to work with many different kinds of people!
The majority of my work, as of now; is Weddings. With that being said I'm very experienced in working with couples and guiding them throughout the whole process from doing their engagement session and creating their save the date cards to walking down the isle! It's a very rewarding experience for me to be able to help people and be apart of their milestones in life!
Aside from Wedding and Engagement Photos, I've also done a lot of Portrait Work. This includes high school senior photos as well as headshots and model work!
You might've read this earlier but, I've also done editorial and commercial work and have helped businesses reach their target audience through created content & imagery.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I'm fond of hmmmmm....All of the events I do are so cool in their own ways! lol
Actually, come to think of it; I second shot a wedding in Austin with my friend, and fellow photographer (White Buffalo Weddings); and the bride and groom totally jumped in a pool, still in their dress and suit; as a part of their sendoff!
I've also got to shoot with Culinaria on many ocassions and got to try all the delicious foods from the celebrity chefs who were apart of the event.
The last trip we did was pretty cool too! My girlfriend and I drove all the way up to the top of Washington state and back down. We went through about 10 national parks, ate these bomb dumplings in San Fransisco and slept under the stars at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Best advice I can give is find someone you connect with and trust.
You want to work with someone who can listen to your needs and help you bring your vision to life.
Find someone who is able to be a "one stop shop" and provide you with all the support you need after your session. Prints, Album Design, frames, finding the right products for you that fit your home and needs.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
All of these questions will vary based on what it is you're trying to do but, a few good ones are...
Do you have insurance?
This is a good question because if you're getting married, your wedding venue may require that your vendors be insured. You dont want to have your venue turn any vendors away, on your wedding day; because they're not properly insured. Please keep in mind, this is not required at all venues but its a good thing to ask!
Do you have a contract?
The contract a photographer provides should work so that it protects you as well as them. Everything should be transparent in regards to when your images will be delivered, what their cancelation or rescheduling policy is and what happens in the event your images are unable to be delivered. All of this is just good practice to have mapped out and both parties agree to.
Do you offer prints, albums and additional products?
A seasoned photographer should have a platform built where they can provide you with high quality prints, albums etc. This may not seem like a big deal, I know you can go to walgreens or walmart to get prints but; if you're investing your money on hiring a professional photographer it would be nice to have professional prints on your wall or a beautiful wedding album on your coffee table!
