About

I am a marriage and family therapist and ordained pastor. Most wedding officiants only specialize in facilitating the ceremony and other features (photography, videography, audio, etc.) that accentuate the wedding day. Now don't get me wrong, I believe that capturing those special moments are important, especially in the years to come. I recently had my 16 year old wedding videos converted from VHS tapes to DVDs. However, what good are those videos and pictures if you divorce one day. As a marriage and family therapist and ordained pastor, I have the experience, tools, and expertise to help you through the wedding day.

I'm passionate to see couples seal their relationships with martrimony, but more importantly, to see their relationships grow, thrive and blossom through the years. The wedding is a moment in time, but a marriage should be for a lifetime...happiness through the lifetime, not drudgery, unhealthy, and painstaking! The wedding is a great start to a lifetime commitment to another invidividual!

Frequently asked questions

My first goal is to clarify what their ceremony entails.  Some people prefer a traditional wedding and others are sometimes more creative, explorative and looking for a unique celebration.  Regardless of what route a couple chooses, traditonal or modern or maybe a combination of the two, it's always important to help them to remember that it's their wedding and no one else.  Weddings can mean so much to many people, sometimes outside influences crowd their judgement on what's most important and memorable for them

I have two master degrees: Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been a therapist since 2007 and have worked with a variety of couples (premarital, marital, divorced, families, etc.). I have worked with hundereds of couples and families.

I have been an ordained minister since 2002 and have performed a lot of wedding ceremonies for variety of religious and non-religious couples.

I find that there are so many different variables that each couple brings to the wedding table that it's difficult to have a "one size fits all."

I started facilitating wedding ceremonies when I became an ordained minister.  I started performing wedding ceremonies for couples at church and then when I became a therapist, sometimes couples would perfer me to facilitate their wedding ceremony because they knew I was there before and after their wedding day.

I have worked with a variety of couples from different ethnic groups, race, age, faith practices and socioeconomic status.

Recently I was a part of a marriage enrichment/retreat cruise in the Bahamas.  The weekend event entailed marriage enrichment sessions during the day and on the last night, a renewing of vows for couples.  It was a great joy to see a variety of couples who had been married for various time frames share their triumphs and challenges with being married and what worked to keep them going! On the last night that the couples renewed their vows, there was a marital vigor in the room that gave a boost to couples that may have been on the edge.
