I would have an initial meeting with the couple in person or via Zoom.  I like to get to know the couple a bit so I can make the ceremony personal to them.  

In that inital meeting we also talk about the details of their service.  I will present a number of elements they can choose from or they may bring their own ideas. I have worked with couples with many themes for their weddings and for candle, sand, or other unity symbol ceremony elements.

From that meeting I will put together an order of service and send it to the couple. 

We would meet a second time to ensure this is the service they want.  Then finalize any details that may need to be addressed. 

I also touch base the week of the wedding to confirm details.  

I am also available through the entire process for questions or changes that may arise.  

I am ordained as a pastor through Calvary Chapel Cheyenne a non-denominational Christian Church.  

I have spent several years in my pastoral training doing wedding planning, sound, and video for weddings. 

I have done a number of different kinds of wedding services in many different settings.  

I feel its important to be well prepared to make their special day go smoothly.  

Initial consultation is free. 

$100.00 an hour the day of the service.  This is generally two hours. 

$50.00 an hour for preparation.  

$25.00 an hour for travil time.  

Flat rates and negotiation avalible.  

I got started doing weddings through the church.  In recent years people have referred me to people who are not connected to the church. These couples would like a non-traditional Christian type of wedding.  

I have worked with people of many different ages, demographics, and  back grounds.  Young couples getting married for the first time, couples getting married for the second time and older couples getting married after the loss of a spouse.  

I had the pleasure of performing a wedding for the daughter of a long time family friend.  I have known Elise since the day she was born.  

In preparation for Josh and Elise's wedding I did feel some stress. I wanted Elise and Josh to have a flawless, memorable, and wonderful wedding day.  In additon to that it was a day that many people I have known for years would be in attendance to witness me perform a wedding.  My parents were guests at the wedding, you have to look good for Mom.

The day turned out to be relaxed, it ran very smoothly, and was a very nice service.  Weddings usually turn out well and are enjoyable.  This one was a particulary enjoyable day to be a part of. 

Talk to several officiants.  Not every one is going to be an exact fit and that is ok. 

Remember this is your day.  The person performing your wedding is there to bring experience to assist you in having the day of your dreams, not to choose how your day will go. 

What is your personality as a couple? What is the personality of  your families?  This will help determine whether you would like a more light hearted and personal service or a more serious formal atmosphere in your service. 

Be willing to give some clear and direct communication about what your needs are. That may include asking for help constructing your service or being clear about what you have already decided about your wedding. 

Be prepared with some questions.  This is a job interview.
