I have a Patternmaking and Fashion Design Certification from the Miami Dade Community College. I have my life experience in sewing working for dry cleaners, manufacturing companies, owner of a sewing school and dressmaker/alteration as freelance

How did you get started in this business?
I started sewing as a business working from home for many years. I open a Sewing School in 2017 until 2022 when it closed against my will. At the present time I work sewing from home giving additional service of pick up and delivery to customers for small fee.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with all kind of customer doing dressmaking for women and all kind of alterations on women clothes. I've made costumes for children and adults and some alterations on men clothes like hem and waist on pants, shirts/sleeves to take-in or shorten. I've made a lot of sewing for the house like pillows, curtains, duvets, bedspreads and the like.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
In my opinion it is very important to find out the experience that the person who is going to do any job. how long in the business, in what way that person does the work, how long that person takes to do the work. For me too slow means non-confidence; too fast means lack of care and focus to detail.
