My name is Tambre J Patterson (Chef Godspeed) Miami, Florida native. At the age of 15, I discovered my passion for cooking. My desire to prepare and cook food was inspired by watching my mother and grandmother painstaking put together breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not only did they take pride in their preparations, but each meal was intended to evoke love and togetherness.
In 2006, I stepped out on faith and open my very own catering business, catering by TJ’s. At first, business was extremely slow and I learn techniques to succeed in the catering Business with each event. Subsequently, Business has picked up in each new client is a very welcoming challenge that I enjoy conquering. In 2012, Revamping my business name to Healthy meals to go. Through this endeavor, I have realized my dreams and I now see the purpose for my earlier struggles. Eventually, I also hope to host my own cooking show on either The Learning Channel (“TLC”), Oprah Winfrey Network (“OWN”), or the FOOD network with the desire to inspire others to recognize their talents in the tranquil efforts of preparing and cooking foods.
Preparing and cooking foods became a source of strength for me. Although I struggle earlier in school, my passion for food helped to guide me through a strenuous Wars of culinary training and set me on a path for success. Through sheer will and determination, I intend to capture the hearts and stomachs of hungry individuals across the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never was a smooth ride.
Each year had its challenges. Word-of-mouth social media and other outlets helped me tremendously. My clients range from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc to Breast Cancer Walk Miami. I service over 300 private clients across Florida with healthy meals and to-go prepped meals. When asked what has been my most monumental experience since starting my business, I asked, “Working and catering for the Color of Change event where over 300 women were in attendance.” I hope to travel more and one day start a foundation that benefits hungry children.I made an appearance at Art Basel Miami. Where I was the featured Chef at the “Take Flight Basel” event.
