    Frequently asked questions

Interested clients contact us via social media DM 95% of the time. The other 5% comes from direct texts and calls. We primarily receive messages through our business page requesting inquiries/quotes.

Clients are asked general questions in regards to

    1. What they are seeking (their vision)

    2. date & location of event

    3. estimated headcount

    4. Budget

Based on the information provided we are then able to properly quote the client based on their "wants" and always on their "needs". Typically the budget might not meet their wants, so there are always alternative options given to better fit their goal.

Once both parties have come to a mutual understanding of the need, then the order is booked via electronic invoice which includes terms and conditions, and all details as discussed for the order.

Once the client pays the invoice, the order to updated on our order system to be completed at the designated date needed.

confirmations are completed the day or two before the due date of the remaining balance (which is 1 week before delivery, if applicable), and another confirmation is completed the day before delivery.

The day of delivery or pick up is when the client receives all of the requested order.

that's it! Very simple, straight forward and to the point.

Occasionally clients might request a tasting appointment (wedding clients), which carries a $40 sitting fee that's transferable to a future order if services are booked.  Tastings can be done in the comforts of any location the client chooses or at our commercial kitchen.

-Self taught baker for over 19 years.

    -BS degree in Business Management

    -BS degree in Human Resources

-25 years of customer service skills

-15 years of event planning experience

    -Certified ServSafe Food Manager

-100's of hours of confectionery training

Custom orders are priced based on:

    1. Complexity of the design

    2. Labor

    3. Materials

    4. Number of Servings

    5. Any misc requests (out of town delivery fees, specially requested items, etc).

For the above reasons, quotes are individually done for each client.

Since we also offer classic desserts, we do have an "ala carte" dessert menu with pricing, which NO customizations are allowed.

Edible Blessings was born in 2002 to fulfill a self need - a custom clown cake for my then 2 year old son that no one in town could make. From that 1st cake, a passion for baking was born and has continued to flourish daily.

We have worked with clients from ages 18-80, women and men of all races, backgrounds, economic status,  and nationalities. Teachers, doctors, judges, lawyers, homemakers, officers and everyone in between.

We've also partnered with national companies such as 1-800-flowers, non profit organizations such as Icing Smiles, and have partnered as a local dessert provider for several restaurants and food trucks.

Most recent event that comes to mind is the 2020 Best Boss Gala in which Edible Blessings was names as the #1 bakery in Jacksonville.

It's always recommended whether a client decides to book services with Edible Blessings or otherwise to be sure to keep in mind the following:

    1. Cheap work isn't great, and Great work isn't cheap. This means be sensible when it comes to budgeting when requesting a custom service as it is very timely and extremely labor intensive. This goes across the board for anything "custom" made - cakes, clothing, art, etc.

If a baker's pricing seems super low compared to other professional bakers, As the old saying goes - if it's too good to be true, it is!

    2. Be realistic. While we love seeing photos from clients as inspiration for the desired look, please keep in mind that photos are just that - "inspiration". No artist can exactly duplicate another artists' work.

It's our goal to bring a clients vision to life as close as possible, but there is never a guarantee that an exact replica can be made. Be aware of any baker that says otherwise!

    3. Don't be afraid to give your potential baker your REAL budget! It saves both parties precious time in the long run if what you really can afford is up to $250, but the options you're being given is $500 or more. It's best to be totally transparent to get the best options to help meet your needs.

    4. Be sure your baker is a PROFESSIONAL. There have been countless times when Edible Blessings has had to come to the rescue for a client due to another "baker" that fell through last minute prior to a major event. Most professional bakers will not fall through the cracks. A hobbiest on the other hand more than likely will! (See #1 😊)

    5. Check the Reviews and Real work! Ours can be seen at Facebook.com/edibleblessings and Instagram.com/edibleblessings.
Many times inexperienced bakers will use clip art, generic shop photos, and even other bakers' work (extremely unethical) as a representation of their own work. It's highly misleading and brutally dishonest. Be sure to read the reviews and view photos of work in comparison.

    6.  Last but not least, read your terms and conditions. This is protection for both parties and ensures that your investment is being taken seriously. It covers both parties should a mishap take place and also spells out in clear language the expectations from both parties involved.

    Be sure to ask:

    1. Delivery policy

    2. Deposit requirement

    3. If you're not certain, If the baker in skilled with what you're seeking

    4. What methods of payment do they accept?

    5. Anything else related to your particular needs.
