My Journey:
Culinary Education
Samone studied Hospitality Management & Tourism and also graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in Culinary Arts. With her chef bag in had she began to agressively pursue private chef jobs. Private chef jobs eventually grew into catering opportunities.
Restaurant Experience
While working at various restaurants in Orlando Samone gained 2 years working experience to gain a solid foundation in international cuisine. After some time working in the kitchen Samone realized her personal fulfillment originates from interacting with guests and started her own Personal chef and Catering company in 2004. She hasnt looked back since.
We’ve won Best of Weddings from TheKnot for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017; received top reviews on The WeddingWire and developed a successful reputation throughout Central Florida, about our ability to turn the discussion about the culinary experience, into a very simple, relational, human process. A process that we’ve learned not to over complicate and to keep our clients engaged throughout. Founded by Samone & Matthew Lett (Partner), Wishful Concepts has been blessed to receive amazing client reviews and industry recognition. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will typically call if that is best for you (we can also Skype or Face time) and talk about what your needs are. If its my personal/private chef services I will want to get information on any allergies and dietary needs if any. I would like to hear about your expectations and types of foods you are interested in. How many meals do you want to have?
If its for events such as a wedding I would want you to give me your vision of your day, walk me through your day as you are picturing it. This helps me to create a menu unique to you. When I hear about your flowers and type of flowers, your colors, your theme all this helps me to understand your overall vision from beginning to end and believe it or not food can tie into all the information provided.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a degree in both Hospitality and Culinary Arts. I am a licensed personal chef and caterer; I also hold a liquor license as well.
I am a certified life coach in women's healing and health.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our prices vary based on what type of service you would like. Our personal chef services can start at $325 per week.
Our private chef services can start at $100.00 per hr.
We offer packages for those staying at rental homes that are very affordable.
With regards to our catering side, prices can range from $35.00-100 pp depending on type of service.
How did you get started in this business?
I started straight from culinary school I am a member of the American Personal Chef Association and have been for 13 years.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My customers are foodies, they are people who are well traveled, doctors, executives, celebrities as well as good average working people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love initimate events outside of my personal chef events. What makes me very fond of these types of events are the family/friend connections. It just reminds me that food is what brings people together.
What advice would you give a customers looking to hire a vendor in your area of expertise?
Come with a realistic budget and some idea of what you are looking for. I always say don’t get so caught up in price but the connection. It’s the connection that will ensure your day whether it’s a personal chef or catering project will run smoothly. At least this is my opinion.
You really should click with whomever you are going to hire, the two of you should be a good fit for each other.
What questions should customers think through before talking to vendors about their needs?
Think about their overall budget which includes service fees, sales tax and gratuity for all the services you are looking for. If you can find caterers that are all inclusive like we are thats even better for you and will help you stretch your dollars even further!
