What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important that we both say and hear the same thing so I write up a detailed request from the customer of what they want and use drawings or pictures and they sign off. I take detailed measurementson the first at the shop and try on visit. If more that one visit is necessary i take measurements again for the try ons to check weight changes but never let a garment go without the customer trying it on and accepting the garment fit and look in writing. If extensive design changes are necessary I'll give input but the customer has the last say and it is noted in writing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been sewing since i was 5 years old. That's over 50 years experience. I do home decor, apparel, craft i.e. Mushpuffin, most anything by hand including building small items and furniture refinishing, etc. I took a home economics class just for the A as a kid. Otherwise my skill is a gift and talent that I've enhanced by using and watching other designers on youtube. Many have really good new innovative ideas.
