Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After first contact I give a complimentary consultation where I will assess your needs and direct you toward the appropriate package. You are booked and your date and time reserved once we have an agreeable package, signed contract and payment.
On your session date we spend the agreed upon amount of time capturing your photographs. This can be a very brief session focused on a small number of specific goals or this can be a longer session with an emphasis on creativity and experimentation.
24-48 hours after your session you can expect your social media sneak peek posted. I encourage you to tag, share and even make this your profile photo.
2-3 weeks after your session you will recieve an online gallery link via email. What is inside this gallery depends greatly on what paclage you chose.
I offer a wide range of products from albums and canvas to framed art and printed cards. Purchased images are available via download and come with a print release.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done countless hours of education, experimentation and client work. I cannot possibly begin to list my education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Yes! You can book a full service studio session from as little as $150. Print release is available afterwards for just $25/image. That means that if your goal is to walk away with 5 unique and stunningly beautiful images you can expect to invest $275. Your session can last up to 2 hours or 3.5 hours for newborns, we can end early if that is what you decide, you are in control. My 2 hour sessions give lots of choices for selection purposes and any investment that you decide to make beyond the session fee, is entirely up to you. My goal goes beyond client satisfaction. I want you to be absolutely thrilled with the entire experience and I go to extensive lenths to ensure that you will be.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started in photography when I fell in love with taking photos of my kids. My journey started officially in 2013.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Oh gosh, I have worked with so many different types of clients over the years.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
While I will always have a special place for love stories, my Maternity and Newborn client projects are my favorite. I guess I just love babies too much!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't sacrifice quality to save a little bit of money. It can make the difference between you liking the photos and you loving these new family heirlooms. I believe that your photos should make you swoon everytime you see them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Any concerns you may have regarding safety. Especially with working with newborns. You need to know that the portraits will be created in a way that will not pose unneccessary risk to your baby.
Have they renamed their business over the years? Sometimes companies will hide behind a new name. These companies may have a history of client dissatisfaction that they are trying to hide. It is possible to remove evidence of bad reviews by starting over. So they will have their company profiles removed from where they have listed themselves. Protect yourself by choosing a company that is listed in as many places as possible and has certifications verifying their authenticity as a professional photographer.
While giving new photographers a chance is commendable, this choice comes with risks. Besides the risk of injury to baby, you risk: never seeing the images from your session; having the photographer not show up on the shoot date; not recieving the images after your session; etc...
There are many systems that a professional has in place to reduce risk of dissapointment to their clients due to technology failure, reliability, delivery and more.
