About

I am Michael Fenton, Doctor of Divinity, a New Jersey-based wedding officiant. I perform non-denominational wedding ceremonies. I incorporate romantic elements from various religious traditions. Whether you are planning a grand affair, a rustic or chic event, an intimate at home celebration or outdoor nuptials, I would be honored to create a ceremony just for you. I am available for weddings, vow renewals, and I work with you to create the ceremony of your dreams. Please call me and we can chat about what you want and I will be happy to answer all your questions. I am professional and sincere and will provide a seamless, stress-free experience so that both of you can enjoy each special moment. I prepare each ceremony as if it were my own to ensure your wedding is memorable and meaningful. I would be honored for the opportunity to be your wedding officiant.

I've been married 56 years. I believe in marriage and I enjoy creating a joyful and romantic beginning to your married life. This is not a business for me, but a joyful way to bring happiness to others. Each wedding I perform is like experiencing my own wedding over and over. I am new to the Fash family. I've performed over 200 weddings and have never received a rating less than 5 stars.

    Frequently asked questions

I'm flexible. Usually we talk over the telephone and I explain my services and what I will do. If a face to face meeting is appropriate, we can meet. About 90% of the time a face to face isn't necessary.

Cheryl C wrote this about one of my typical ceremonies: It was an honor to have Michael officiate our wedding. His presentation was perfect and full of beauty and wisdom. We received many compliments and statements of appreciation from guests. His words sparked reflection in couples in both new and long relationships. What a beautiful ceremony and beginning of our marriage.

After a career in business, Human Resources and counselling, I retired and became an artist. I studied ethics and comparative religion and am no a Doctor of Divinity. I am an ordained officiant and I have performed over 200 weddings and have a 5 star rating across the board.

I have a set fee for preparing an individualized ceremony for the couple getting married and I file the necessary papers with the state after the ceremony. The fee for this is $250. If my presence is required at a rehearsal or pre marital counseling then i my additional fee varies depending on time, expenses and distance.

After I was ordained, a friend asked if I would officiate at her wedding. I had a wonderful time and decided that if I can add some love into this world by doing this, I will, I should. I do this because i love to do it. It's not an occupation for me.

I will work with all people who want to get married. I do not perform religious ceremonies where an ordained Rabbi or Priest is required in order to have the marriage sanctified by the religion in question. I perform non sectarian ceremonies, same sex ceremonies, small and large weddings. My ceremonies are romantic, not religious although I can include religious elements if desired. I have married three sisters in successive years, bikers, hikers, mixed and non religous marriages and elopements, renerwal of vows, and remarriages. I do not do costumes or themes  or anything that mocks the beauty and importance of love and marriage.
