Coming from humble beginnings , and being raised by a single working mother of 5 children I spent most of my time in my grandmother's kitchen, where she was constantly cooking up new savory dishes from the South. I started to help her with chores around the kitchen, and soon developed a love for the different techniques used to roll out soft pastry dough, and the spices used in marinating chicken legs. I was inspired by how food can tell a story and convey cultural ideas, as well as how it brings people together. My current position as Executive Chef at an Assisted Living Facility in Westchester and Culinary Prof. at CINY reflects my commitment to the profession.
