About

Duncan Quinn has been called “Savile Row Meets Rock ‘n Roll” by GQ Magazine, and “The best tailor in town” by Nigel Barker... “These are not your fathers suits—unless your dad was 007.” We specialize in bespoke tailoring for both men and women. All of our suits are hand cut, stitched, and finished right here in New York by a master tailor, ensuring a perfectly fitting garment. They are truly bespoke in every way. Every suit is equipped with details such as hand-sewn button holes, hand-rolled lapels, pick stitching, top of the line trims, and a full-floating canvas.

We use fabric from the finest mills in the world and work with only the best cloth suppliers. Choose from thousands of cloth options, or if you’d like, we can even speciality mill one of a kind cloth just for you.

We opened in NoLita, NYC in 2003 on a mission to better dress the gentlemen and rogues of New York City and beyond. To create a club of characters. And give them reasons to dress up. Our unique combination of classic bespoke tailoring, irreverent twists, exceptional events & general curation of the good life has led to many fun things. We've dressed the great and the good, and in some cases characters bordering on insane. We've thrown cocktail parties in vintage double decker buses, grand cru wine tastings on 200 foot schooners, legendary dinners in the lobby of Chateau Marmont, Gumballed and Goldrushed and Elephant Charged across continents, raised money for good causes, and generally whooped it up as much as we can adding stories, and suits along the way. We've been featured in newspapers & magazines all over the world including GQ, Esquire, Town&Country, Forbes, WSJ, and others. Inspired by gentlemen and rogues from Sir Ian Fleming's James Bond to Cary Grant's John "The Cat" Robie. Come join us!

    Frequently asked questions

The entire process takes about two months, although we can sometimes accommodate shorter deadlines if you’re in a bind. We begin by meeting to see fabric options and decide on lining, details, cut, style and getting to know you so that we can make a garment that not only fits your body, but your personality. At this first meeting we also take your body measurements and make notes of any adjustments (one shoulder lower than the other, your posture, how your arms hang, etc).

About 4-6 weeks after we meet again for what is called a “raw try on”, where the garment is loosely stitched together. This is so we can make any adjustments needed that would not be possible, or as accurate, if it was done on a fully finished garment. At this meeting we will also decide on smaller details such as buttonhole color, buttons, and button thread color.

Then in 1-2 weeks we’ll meet for what is typically the final fitting. Your suit will be fully finished with all the hand stitched details and personal touches that come along with a bespoke suit that was truly made for you, and your body. Cheers!

When Duncan Quinn first started making ‘bespoke’ suits in New York City back in 2003, even the guys from GQ and the New York Times had never heard the word. Being the first doesn’t always make you the best, but as we’ve consistently proven since then, our quality speaks for itself. And our clients from all over the world stand testament to just how well we make a bespoke suit. As Henry Royce (of Rolls Royce) once said, “you’ll remember the quality long after you forget the price.”

We’ve been redefining men's fashion for nearly a decade. Our shop, situated in the heart of Nolita, caters to an eclectic crowd of rogues and eccentrics. DQ has an exceptional eye for color, texture, and character. And so it was that I came to do the architecture for suits for bodies. I also realized that although people will tell you never to judge a book by its cover, almost everyone does. Which makes for interesting possibilities when manipulating perception.

And so, although we make suits, we are not your average suit maker. It's not just about taking measurements and choosing your cloth. It's about achieving a mission, and maximizing "you" for the challenges you will be faced with in life. Whether by dialing up or down the volume of the message the suit speaks. More understated, less understated, more elegant, less elegant, more formal, less formal. Adding or deducting small signals which people will perceive. So while a bespoke DQ suit is still a suit, more than that it is your message to the world. Lets work together to make sure it's the message you want it to be.

Our bespoke suits start at $4,500, and pricing is based on the fabric chosen. On average, customers tend to spend about $7,500 on each suit. Very special items such as specially milled one of a kind fabric, or magical cloth imparted with Jade particles, can reach into the $20,000-30,000 range. We accept cash, check, money wire, all major credit cards, and even offer financing through affirm.
