Rev. Cindy Riggs
About
Make your special day memorable with a ceremony created just for you!
I specialize in customized, on location wedding ceremonies in the Columbus and central Ohio areas (or elsewhere by arrangement).
I officiate wedding and commitment ceremonies that are traditional, non-traditional, non-denominational / secular and alternative / LGBTQ+. My wedding ceremonies are dynamic and personal, accommodating your beliefs, your values, and even your own vows to each other if you choose. It’s all about you!
I have officiated weddings in back yards, parks, venues, chapels / churches, restaurants, golf clubs, art galleries, living rooms, and many more unique locations such as the Ohio Statehouse, a rooftop, and on theater stages. I even performed a vow renewal inside St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
I am a Universal Life Church minister / officiant licensed with the State of Ohio. I am an advocate of religious freedom – that each person has the right to peacefully determine their own beliefs.
Whether or not your wedding ceremony includes your own spiritual beliefs, which I will be pleased to accommodate, I believe you deserve one that is uniquely yours with the appropriate blend of formality, humor and sincerity. I have also tag-teamed with Catholic priests to blend religious denominations.
I have been officiating weddings regularly since 2006. I am also a published author, motivational speaker and former television show host. I cannot even put into words how honored I feel to officiate and witness couples' most important moment in their lives! :)
Note: My fee may vary, depending on location, and whether or not you are having a rehearsal. Please contact me with specifics so I may provide a quote.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with you to determine if I am the right fit for your ceremony! We can meet in-person or phone/FaceTime/Zoom. $100. deposit will reserve your date. One additional meeting is typically all that is needed to design and customize your ceremony (if it's not already completed during the initial one). The ceremony draft is emailed and edits are made until you approve the ceremony. The balance of my fee is due by the rehearsal, which I attend and conduct. I submit your license to the courthouse after the ceremony.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
28 years of experience as a spiritual consultant, life coach, and inspirational speaker.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started in this business?
In 2006, a friend asked if I would officiate her ceremony. The venue thought that ceremony was so unique, that they recommended me to other couples. Along with my web and social media presence it has continued to grow from there and I have officiated almost 200 ceremonies!
What types of customers have you worked with?
ALL types.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
An "ugly Christmas sweater" wedding on Christmas Eve inside a home with over-the-top decorations, and streamed live on the web for relatives and friends out of state!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you know everything your officiant plans to say and do during your ceremony. Ensure that they are flexible and willing to allow you to customize.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
-How flexible are you to accommodate sensitivities of a wide range of belief systems of guests who may be in our audience?
-How liberal are you personally?
-How flexible are you with weather issues (if outside)?
