I have been a minister for more than 30 years. While most of my ministry years was in conservative churches, over the last 5+ years I have had a complete change of heart and mind on most if not all of the positions that conservatives hold as the truly important social issues of our day. I am a minister that is fully LGBTQ+ inclusive, loving and affirming. I am deeply passionate about providing pastoral counseling services for those dealing with the traumatic pain of church rejection and ostracization following coming out. Also, for those looking to get married, I would love to officiate your Nashville area wedding.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically have one or two meetings with the couple to talk through all the aspects of the ceremony, style, dress, vows, and anything else they are hoping for and all the other particulars of their big day. I prefer to be part of the rehearsal, but it isn't required.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a full time pastor for over 30 years. I now do counseling work in the Nashville area as well as online. I can also do remarriage counseling if the couple would like to engage that.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge between $250 and $500 depending on the complexity/simplicity of the service and the distance to travel.
*ALSO, If the couple is interested in remarriage counseling I generally charge $150 for a 6 session program plus a $40 cost for an online assessment.
How did you get started in this business?
It was part of the whole being a pastor thing. It was actually one of the things I enjoyed most about my work as a pastor. It is a great honor to officiate weddings.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have officiated weddings for many straight couples but over the past 6 years I have officiated mostly same gender weddings. I also am comfortable with officiating weddings from a very religious standpoint all the way to a completely non-religious and anywhere inbetween.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love to attend festivals. My favorite one right now is called the Wild Goose Festival which is held in North Carolina. The Wild Goose Festival is a sort of mix of hippie culture, progressive christian thought, theology nerd and folksy music. My wife and I love to attend.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure that you remember that this is YOU'R DAY. Don't allow anyone else to tell you how to do your wedding. Wedding coordinators, Mother in laws, cousins and other may be well meaning, but don't always give you the wedding of your dreams. Remember that it is your wedding.
