About

Although I have been the officant at hundreds weddings over 20 years, I don't perform weddings for a living. You may wonder if that makes me more desirable or less desirable to officiate yours. If you ARE wondering, good for you! The point of mentioning it is that we, me, you will NEVER have the feeling of being strapped to a conveyor in some kind of assembly line. Each wedding I perform is unique to the people involved and I customize each to suit their desires and personalities. I have officiated weddings in nearly every conceivable location - from upscale wedding venues to hotel lobbies to small, livingroom affairs; from a hospital room to a rustic cabin to a county jail; from a field of bluebonnets to a South Padre Island beach to a neighborhood park. I consider it my honor to be asked to serve in my ministerial capacity this way.

While I am a church ordained minister and currently serve as Music Guy at a local church, am do not bring any denominational baggage with me, nor do I insist on using your wedding as a platform for preaching. What I DO insist upon is that the Bride and Groom experience no stress at my hand and have the kind of ceremony they want.

My base fee is $150. That includes: customizing your ceremony to your satisfaction, helping you write your own vows, if you wish; travel to a location/address/venue within about one hour of my home, performing the ceremony in a light, but appropriate manner; signing all the legal papers (Well, OK, there's only the marriage license but I will sign that.); and quietly retiring from the scene before anyone becomes bothered by "that minister who is still hanging around." There will be additional fees if you feel you need to meet me in person or you want me to be at/run a rehearsal or if you need me to travel further than an hour from my home. But those would be YOUR options.

Frequently asked questions

Once I am sure I am available at the location and for the date provided by the client, I will send a sample ceremony to begin the process of customization.  I will request specific information (full names of participants, venue address, alternate contact information, etc.).  I will answer any and all questions for the client.

I am an ordained Christian minister working in a church in Waxahachie, TX.  That being said, I am happy to perform civil or non-religious ceremonies should that be desired.  I do not require any sort of counseling for the couple nor do I offer such a service.

As indicated in my profile, my basic fee is $150 for a wedding that is under one hour away from my home.

It includes:

Customizing a ceremony
Assistance with writing vows (if desired)
Travel to venue
Officiating the ceremony
Signing the license

Additional fees will be required for attending/running a rehearsal or travel beyond the stated.  (I also require the client to cover my expernditures for venues that charge me for admittance, parking, etc.)

Although I had been an active, part-time staff member (music minister) at various churches for more than a decade, I was not licensed to perform weddings.  I was asked by a work associate to officiate hers.  My church congregation was more than willing to license me and I was ordained in 1998.

I have worked will all types of people and am willing to be very flexible in my approach.
