About

My motto is "Love is the secret ingredient!" and that is something I've kept close in and out of the kitchen. Food isn’t just good to the body. It's good for the soul! I believe in working with each client to recreate their vision for unforgettable flavors and experiences.

My passions are art, food and people. Being a culinary artist and caterer allows me to fulfill those passions all in one. I've had the opportunity to make great connections with wonderful individuals all across the country.

Mahogany has been fantastic! Not only has she been able accommodate all of our families dietary needs ( we have a vegan child, a child and wife w food allergies and me who eats everything) but also everything has been so delicious!!
If you are lucky she may share her awesome secret musical talent :)

We were in a scramble when we reached out to Mahogany Made. She was patient, straightforward, so easy to work with, and highly professional (but also fun!) in her communication. She worked with us to create a great menu, accommodated various dietary needs, and provided exceptional meals! Our desire in having MM come out was to provide our work team nutritious and morale boosting meals during a very intense work festival; she did not disappoint! The entire team RAVED on the food and LOVED her! Next time were in town - well be calling her up. If you are thinking about trying Mahogany Made for your personal chef/catering needs - do it. You will be beyond pleased; as were we.

    Frequently asked questions

For me, communication is very important to the customer's experience. When working with new customers, I like to conduct a 30 minute meeting via Zoom or phone call to discuss their dietary needs, budgets and any details of their event. If they're stuck on what they would like served, I also offer a service to create a menu proposal for them to review and approve.

My big secret is, I never went to culinary school! My passion, vision and talent has all been God-given and self taught. I have, however worked in many fine dining establishments in Dallas, TX, such as Dakota’s Steakhouse and what was once Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck in the Reunion Tower. I had the opportunity to witness AMAZING chefs—artists really— create amazing plates, which fueled my love for food even more. The great thing about culinary artistry is there’s always something to learn, especially once you expand to different cultures and diets. Though I consider myself skilled, this helps me remain teachable.
My base price for a private meal for two is $250. This includes plates, cutlery, up to 4 hours of service and travel up to a 15 mile radius (I can and do travel farther). Your food costs is dependent upon the menu you select. My base price for buffet style catering begins at $450, which includes high quality, disposable napkins, plates, cutlery and cups, warming equipment, setup and serving utensils. This price covers parties up to 25 and does not include the cost of food or servers. Of course, if you are looking for a more tailored experience, we will work together to make sure that your vision is made reality!
Like many others, COVID really shook up my career. I had just left a job I worked at for 2 years because they were shutting down the company. I got another job and was laid off within 3 weeks because they did the same. I had went back and forth about going into business for myself, and though I really wanted to and knew I had the talent, it was a scary to think of what it would require, especially with the world seemingly falling apart around me. However, my passion outweighed my panic! I took a leap of faith, bought startup equipment and got my LLC. It hasn’t always been easy, but it HAS been very rewarding and has made me better. I’m very grateful to be able to do what I love for a living.
I have worked with customers of all demographics and backgrounds, from intimate dinners, to family gatherings, to business meetings.
I recently did a lobster and steak picnic dinner in the park for a couple to celebrate the husband's birthday. Everything from the beautiful set up to the food to the nearby fountain just flowed. I love catering intimate settings of all kinds, but there's something about enoying a great meal while enjoying the splender of nature!
What does the cooking/serving space looked like? This VERY important in determining the time needed to execute the service and how much space we will have to to do so. What is the overall budget for this event/private dining, including food and services? I know this question can seem intimidating, but it’s to better serve the customer and help figure what kinds of menus and services to propose. The goal is to meet and exceed your expectations! What level of service are you looking for? Are you wanting something simple or are you dreaming big? The goal for your caterer or private chef should always be to give you the experience you’ve envisioned. We can’t do that with you! Do you need servers? What time are you looking for you and your guests to eat? What kind of menu would you like? Are there any dishes you’d like to see served?
