I’m Kayla. A small town Alabama photographer smack dab in the middle of Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. I love chasing sunsets and sticking a family or couple right in the middle of it. I married my man in 2012 and we have 2 kiddos that are my world and a deaf pitbull named Tony Stark. I am kind of obsessed with all things Marvel - my siblings and I never miss an opening night premier and I own way too many Marvel t-shirts (thanks Target mens section!) I watch entirely too much television and feed my family way too much Chick-fil-A and am not ashamed of it; it is The Lord’s chicken after all, right?

I have been capturing memories since I was handed my first Polaroid i-Zone way back in the year 2000, I was gifted my first DSLR in 2007 (A Nikon D-40!) and never looked back. I shot my very first wedding all on my own with that D-40 in 2010 for a friend who paid me $100 and a trip to the beach (if you ask nicely, I may shoot your wedding for a beach trip too, but with upgraded gear) and I’ve been able to be a part of so many more weddings along the way. I received my Bachelors of Art (Photography and Digital Media) from the University of Alabama in 2013 but I am awful with social media.

I love capturing families and watching them grow throughout the seasons, meeting with new or soon to be parents, children in all stages of life from newborn to graduation and beyond. Being beside a mother as she brings life into the world, seeing a baby’s first breath or first birthday or a father walk his baby girl down the aisle. I live for wedding days and being by a couple’s side through every moment, making sure nothing is missed or forgotten and everything is laid-back and enjoyable. It is so much fun getting together with couples or families that have trusted me with their memories and hanging out while I snap love and laughter.
