Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After contacting and meeting with the client to begin the process of initiating the planning of their event, a visit to the venue where the event will be taking place will then be scheduled to ensure that the client, the venue manager (if available) and our catering consultants are on the same page for a successful event outcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My culinary catering experience and training flourished from working side by side with other chefs and catering businesses such as Raintree Catering and with Chef Jeff Arnold from Friend's Catering. Some added culinary touches and education was also made available through voluntary culinary courses.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our service pricing is mainly based on a per-person rate, the quality and quantity of the ingredients, and the type of service request such as; on site catering and/or drop off only. Disposable plates, cups, and cutlery supplies are included in the base rate.
How did you get started in this business?
In 2015, Chef Arnold and I formed our own catering business ...
"Jeff & Fran's Dedicated Catering LLC". When Chef Arnold decided he was going to retire after 35+ years I began dba "Dedicated Catering LLC" as a family owned business ... Chef Arnold, graciously occasionally continues to assist me in catering events (when he's bored :)
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've catered for a small variety of cultural social background individuals such as African, Hawaiian, Mexican, American, and Special Need Adult Groups. And Companies as Corporate Real Estate, Aerospace Manufacturing Co., and Medical Dispensaries.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Catering Hawaiian events is my favorite. Enjoying the feeling of being somewhere else in the world and witnessing the fun entertainment that comes with it is fascinating.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
1. Research your catering questions in advance if possible, ask lots of questions.
2. Researching how catering works, by doing this it will help you to understand the way catering costs and charges are applied and why.
This can be a very good step at preparing your event in "cost and budget". Knowing what you can afford will help you evaluate what part of catering best fits both your needs and your budget.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. Visualize your entire event, determine exactly what type of event you want and realistically can afford, "casual or formal".
2. "Know your budget" and know what type of food and service you can afford. For instance, sea food and red meats are much pricier than chicken and pork. Full service catering is more costly than buffet serving.
3. "Know what kind of food you want". When you come down to the basis of knowing what type of food you want it helps from being confused and bombarded by so many choices.
