Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first introduce myself and ask what the client is looking for so I can make suggestions and give them a quote. Once a shoot has been scheduled, I send the client a contract and start preparing the specific needs for the shoot. After the shoot, I begin editing and retouching the images then send them to the client within a few days to two weeks depening on how many images.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing photography for about ten years in total and have taken several photography classes within my career. Since I've started my business, I have completed over 50 shoots and have 3+ years of experience with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Some of the shoots I've done include weddings, portraits, events, businesses, real estate, automotive, travel photography and more.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
There are two parts when it comes to doing a photoshoot; the shoot itself and the editing after. Depending on the shoot, often times the editing takes longer then the shoot. My average pricing per hour including editing is around $50/hr. I typically charge a fixed price that has been agreed upon with the client. It is important to remember that every shoot is different and the most important thing is that the clients needs are met. It is best to contact me to get the most accurate pricing.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Here are three basic guidelines to consider when looking for a photographer:
1- Do you like their style of work? Everyone's artistic representation is different, find the one that you like best.
2- Ask questions about how the process works. The process should be easy, simple, and effective.
3- Find a photographer that has experience shooting in the field you are looking for and has work to show for it. Anyone can find a cheap photographer, but quality work usually comes from a photographer who has done it before.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Start off with the essentials; WHAT do you need shot, WHERE do you need it taken, and WHEN do you need it by. A photographer with this imformation can get started planning right away.
