Jalia Pettis, Licensed Beauty Professional
About
My work stands out because I have a passion for what I do. Beauty is not all about make-up, that is just an added enhancement to what is already there! I pride myself on being able to work with all skin tones, types, and textures.
As a make-up artist, I enjoy being able to enhance and/or transform my client. In some situations, they don't always see what they could potentially look like so I am glad to offer them an enhancement to their unique beauty. As a make-up artist for events and photo shoots, I enjoy being creative!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When speaking with first-time customers I try to get as much information about them, their skin and their desired result as possible. I will make recommendations based on age, skin texture and face shape. My goal is to help my client feel their most beautiful self.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Licensed Esthetician and member of the Professional Beauty Association. I have been a Makeup Artist since 2008 and a Skincare Specialist since 2014. I am always looking for ways to sharpen my skills...you should never stop learning as an artist. I also educate across the country at various beauty tradeshows and assist others in enhancing their skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer potential clients rate sheets based on the services they are seeking. My rates are not up for negotiation, booking with me is well worth the price paid.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common jobs are for commercial photo shoots, editorial or film/tv. However, I do offer personal services for brides and well as special events. I also do beauty parties for ladies and their friends!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The best advice I can give is to look at the body of work for the individual you are considering. Their portfolio should display the type of artist they are. In addition, once you book that individual trust them and their ability to give you a customized experience.
