    Frequently asked questions

If you are hiring me for a wedding, I would like to sit down in person and talk about your style, your wedding details and what you expect from me. After all you will be spending upwards of 8 hours with me on one of the most important days of your life! If you are hiring me for a portrait, family shoot or something similar, just contact me, send me a 10% deposit, and I'll see you soon! :) I do like to speak with you or at least receive a text message...

I have been a photographer for over 20 years (I started when I was 5... just kidding) I have been a paid professional for over 10 years and I love what I do! I am constantly updating my equipment, taking classes and instruction to continually be on the professional upside of the trends in the business.

I am one of the most reasonable photographers in the area. I include in your price ALL of the photos from the photoshoot, edited and uploaded to a digital online gallery... typically within 24-48 hours.

I started by taking photos of my children when they were born. I started shooting weddings when a friend of mine didn't want to drive alone to a wedding location and asked me if I would drive with her... I said, "should I bring my camera?" she said "of course" ... I acted as her "second-shooter"and after she viewed my photos she was blown away. She said "wow... when I hire a second-shooter they aren't nearly as good as you" ... I had so much fun at this wedding I thought... what the heck, I am having so much fun, I guess I should be a wedding photographer...and the rest is history.

I work with all types of customers. I started my photography career in Las Vegas. We had such a wide variety of people who came for vacations, family reunions, elopements, parties and the list goes on and on. I have had non-English speaking people from Japan, France, Poland, Germany and many more countries. It can be a challenge when the client doesn't speak English but we usually have so much fun regardless. I don't have a particular age, ethnic or religious norm...everyone is different, yet everyone is similar. Photography seems to bring out the happy side of people. I love to joke around and especially love to see people laugh.

I am particular fond of family photoshoots with kids. They are usually pretty shy at first, but when I start to act like I goofy kid myself, they warm up to me... I love when we are finished and the little ones ask if I can come with them for ice cream :) I feel like I have done my job!

The best piece of advice that I can give when hiring a photographer is personality. (talent and experience of course as well) If you are hiring a photographer for a day-long wedding or an hour session you want to like the person who is behind the camera. Are they someone who can bring out your personality and your style? I may not be the person who you choose, but thats okay. You may have a different style or personality and I won't work for you... that is totally fine, it's best to choose someone who works for YOU!

Important questions to ask your photographer are: 1. are you licensed? 2. how long have you been shooting professionally (getting paid)? 3. have you ever shot a ______________________ (whatever you are hiring them for example: wedding, ribbon-cutting, engagement)? 4. how many images do I receive? 5. do you edit the photos? 6. how long will it take to get the photos to me? ...do your homework and look at ALL of the photographers photos. Do they only have a few on their website? Typically photographers only put their best work on their website. It should be important to you to find someone who does a fantastic job with your photos. You are hiring them for a specific job, make sure that the person that you are paying to complete that will make you happy.
