Pastor Naomi
About
I have been an ordained Lutheran pastor for almost 17 years and have had the joy of officiating dozens of weddings during that time. I have stood with couples for intimate ceremonies with just the couple, their witnesses, and God gathered around a church altar. I have officiated backyard weddings followed by a picnic with family and friends, as well as formal celebrations with hundreds of guests dressed for a black-tie affair. Every wedding is different, because every couple is different.
My goal is to help you create a ceremony that sounds and feels like YOU. We will talk about your relationship, your values, the traditions that matter to you, and what you want your wedding ceremony to say about the commitment you are making to one another. From there, I work with you to shape a service that is personal, meaningful, and comfortable in your own voices.
Because I am a pastor, the ceremonies I officiate include an acknowledgment of God and a blessing upon your marriage. But I do not expect you to understand or experience God exactly as I do. Part of preparing for your wedding is having an open conversation about what faith, spirituality, and God mean to you, including the questions and uncertainties you may carry. My role is not to squeeze your relationship into a particular religious formula. It is to listen carefully and help create sacred space around the promises you are making to one another.
I joyfully officiate weddings for couples of all gender identities and sexual orientations, races and cultures, backgrounds and economic circumstances. You do not need to belong to my church, be Lutheran, or have everything figured out about faith. You simply need to be willing to enter into the promises you are making honestly and thoughtfully.
Whether your wedding includes four people or four hundred, I would be honored to help you create a ceremony that is warm, authentic, sacred, and unmistakably yours.
