We make all the ice cream -- by hand -- right in front of your guests. So we're a lot more than just dessert. Our staff is well trained to interact with customers and talk about the process.
Because we make everything fresh on the spot, we have a lot of flexibility when it comes to flavors and mix-ins. We can even do alcohol infused ice creams for private events if you provide the alcohol.
We love interactive with guests and seeing their amazement at the process of making ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Unlike other catering operation that just serve the food, our team makes it fun for guests! We see ourselves as part of the entertainment for the evening and we want to be a memorable part of your event!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customers contact us about an event for which they need catering. We do all kinds of events including, weddings, corporate parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, private parties, concessions at sporting events, etc..
We engage with the customer to find out all the details of the event and what they are looking for. At that point, we put together a proposal including the date, time, reserved servings.
Once booked, customers get to create their own menu of 3 combinations and choose the names.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have more than 8 years providing nitrogen ice cream catering in San Diego county. We have done several hundred events.
In order to provide these services, you must have a hazmat license to store and use liquid nitrogen. All of our employees go through extensive training when hired. There are very few businesses that can offer custom ice cream made with liquid nitrogen.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our standard package is $400, which includes:
- Up to 50 servings (5 OZ) $5 per serving above 50
- Customer slelects 3 customer combinations for the menu from our extendsive list of flavors and mix ins
- 2 Hours serving time with 2 employees making ice cream using liquid nitrogen
- includes everything needed - cups, napkins, utinsils, etc. Can be inside or outside. Shoobie's provides canopy if needed
- Experience can be customized. We can also offer alchohol infused ice cream for private events (customer must provide alchohol). Please ask a Shoobie's representative for more details.
How did you get started in this business?
We started the business in 2013. We own and operate Shoobie's Microcreamery in Carlsbad Village where we make every ice cream to order using liquid nitrogen. Catering is a natural extention of our business, since we can offer a unique experience in additional to a great dessert.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We recently catered a wedding that had a Dungeons and Dragons theme. We were able to customize the experience with names that matched the them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ice cream at events is tricky. Because we make it on-the-spot, while the customer watches, we become part of the event, not just a dessert.
