Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best avenue to great photography is by developing a communication style and building trust that results in excellent imagery.
The requested service will determine the process ie: wedding, portrait, event etc etc.
Every client gets a detailed consultation to determine the desired goal. A mutually agreed upon date and location will be selected followed by the shoot. Images will be edited and made available for review and selection.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 25 years of experience. Member of WPPI and award winning member of Professional Photographers of California. I consistently attend workshops and seminars nationwide to stay current on the trends and latest equipment available.
How did you get started in this business?
I've studied photography for 25+ years. I started shooting film and spending time in the darkroom, then transitioning to digital. Studying under the masters and staying up on the most modern techniques and using the best equipment has allowed me to be as creative as possible.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients range from private to corporate, young and seasoned in a variety of settings. I've done work for government entities and schools.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I shot images for a teenage fire department program. The program was to instill discipline and responsibility in teenagers while inspiring them to pursue a possible career in the fire service.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Get true samples of their work to determine their style. Talk to them over the phone or in person to get a sense of their personality or disposition.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Every client has different needs but a sampling of questions could be: What style(s) do you specialize in? What should I wear? What exactly is included in your packages? Do you bring your own lighting? How many hours of coverage do we get? What is the deposit and total fee? Have you ever shot at my venue(s) before? What are the restrictions for sharing photos online or for publication? Do you own the copyright to the photos?
