Francis Dreis Photography is based in Los Angeles. We create beautiful, intelligent and emotionally driven imagery for clients around the globe. At our core, we strive to be Original, Generous, Empathetic and Soulful.
With over two decades of experience anticipating and trouble shooting the unique challenges of small to large-scale productions, we work tirelessly to realize the client’s vision, pushing beyond expectations. We take special pride in attracting and retaining relationships with A-Level Production Professionals throughout the entire production process whether it be photography, live action video, VFX or animation.
We have received numerous awards for outstanding photography and video work including two EMMY AWARDS (2007, 2011) for commercial work with Lockheed Martin and Best Director at Williamsburg Film Festival, NY (2013). We have worked with some of Hollywood’s top talent such as Casey Affleck (Academy Award Winner - Best Actor 2016), Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale) and Janusz Kaminski (Two time Academy Award Winner - Cinematography).

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually work by these three things :
-Curiousity : listening and discovering client's needs
-Collaboration : brainstorming and refinement of ideas/approaches with client
-Creation : implementing approach while keeping open to new discoveries and opportunities as I photograph
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Architecture/Urban Planning and Geography and the University of Washington. I have been a working photographer since 2002.

It's usually
Pre-Production Planning = 600/day
Shoot Day = 1500/12 Hours
Post Production (retouching) = 600/day
How did you get started in this business?
I moved to Los Angeles in 1996 and began working as a Production Assistant on commercials. I had several mentors that helped me build myself creatively, technically and financially.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Everything from Fortune 500 companies to Startups. From direct client work and Ad Agency work.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Hire the passionate ones that will go the extra mile - like me:)
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
A couple of things I always look for is a creative brief. This helps explain the company and the creative direction. But, if the customer is not at that phase yet, then it can be alot of fun working and developing ideas with the client.
