About

Who is this?

Hey, I'm Alec, a dedicated visual creative currently based in USA

What lead me to be a photographer?

I work in the medical field as a CNA and MA, and I’m currently a Pre-Med student. Despite my demanding schedule, I’ve always sought a creative outlet to balance my busy lifestyle. Photography became the perfect craft, allowing me to connect with people on a deeper level while creating timeless, artistic work.

My experience in the medical field has profoundly shaped my approach to photography. The skills I’ve developed—attention to detail, patience, and empathy—are invaluable in capturing the essence of my subjects and the natural world. Transitioning from medicine to photography has given me a unique perspective, blending scientific precision with artistic vision to create meaningful and intentional images.

My Work

My photography is a thoughtful blend of tradition and evolution, rooted in the timeless craft of film yet embracing the possibilities of digital mediums. With a foundation built on years of manual development and darkroom printing, my work reflects a deep appreciation for the artistry and discipline of analog processes. This hands-on experience has shaped my technical expertise and creative vision, which now extends into the world of digital photography.

While I’ve transitioned toward digital tools to offer greater flexibility and meet the needs of modern clients, my work never loses sight of its roots. The same attention to texture, light, and storytelling carries through in my digital images, preserving the soul and intimacy of film while exploring new creative opportunities. Whether I’m capturing candid moments, evocative landscapes, or dynamic portraits, I strive to ensure that every frame tells a story and leaves a lasting impression.

Technical Expertise

My work often involves manual development and printing in a traditional darkroom, allowing me to maintain complete control over every stage of the process. This hands-on approach has given me a deep understanding of film photography, from selecting the perfect stock to fine-tuning exposure and contrast during printing. I've had the privilege of learning under master photographers, which has greatly influenced my appreciation for the artistry and craft of analog techniques. I also enjoy experimenting with alternative processes and pushing the boundaries of traditional film photography to create unique, evocative images.

In recent years, I’ve transitioned to incorporating digital photography into my workflow to better serve my clients’ needs. This shift has allowed me to offer greater flexibility, faster turnaround times, and enhanced editing capabilities. My technical skill set now spans a range of tools, from medium-format film cameras to high-resolution digital systems and advanced post-production software. Whether working in analog or digital, I remain committed to delivering thoughtful, meticulously crafted work that reflects my vision and my clients’ stories.

Skip the Pinterest boards and staged smiles, friend. Find a photographer who sees the magic in the unscripted: the nervous giggle before the vows, the shared glance across a crowded dance floor, the tear your dad hides on his cheek. Someone who's as comfortable with stolen moments as posed portraits, who disappears into the background and lets your story unfold. Trust your gut, not their gear. Look for passion, not perfection. Choose the one who gets goosebumps hearing about your quirky vows and messy dance moves. That's the one who'll capture the soul of your day, not just the surface shine.
Before diving into photography dreams, take a moment to breathe and ask yourself: "What feels real to us?". Dig deep – beyond Pinterest boards and curated feeds. Is it stolen laughter during vows, kids covered in cake, or Grandma's secret smile? Imagine your day, unscripted, and pinpoint those raw, unscripted moments that make your hearts sing. Then, seek photographers who speak your language, who see beauty in the unposed, and whose passion lies in weaving your genuine story, not crafting picture-perfect scenes. Remember, it's your love story, so let your authenticity be the compass that guides you to the photographer who'll translate it into timeless memories.
