JAMES CREIGHTON PHOTOGRAPHER
About
MY GOAL is always to create the photos that YOU want and need to achieve your goal. I apply my talent, expertise, and artistic sense to capture the images you request.
Based in Los Angeles I have many years of experience shooting actor headshots, model portfolios, and casual portraits in studio or on location. My work has appeared in numerous magazines including US, PLAYBOY, MAXIM, TELESTAR (France) and many others.
I've worked with celebrities and models, but I also have shot many beautiful people who are not professionals. I'm friendly, supportive, and non-judgemental.
Let's make some great pictures together.

I really love my work as a photographer. And I think that comes through in my attitude during the shoot. I love the creative process itself--capturing a striking image at just the right moment, full of beauty and meaning. I enjoy meeting the people I shoot and working with them and the other members of the team, the hair and MU stylist, the photo assistant, the clothes stylist...however big or small the team. I think photo shoots should be fun, more like a party or a gathering of friends than a job. We just happen to get some great pics while we have a good time. Perhaps that is why I have made many friends who shoot with me again and again over the years.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process:
When we make contact over the phone or by email I'd like to get a brief general idea of what sort of photos you are looking for.
Next we should meet in person. For you it's a chance to look through my portfolio and discuss what your goals for the photo shoot are. For me it's a chance to understand exactly what you want as far as the photo shoot itself and the end product you desire--prints, website, promo card, etc. For both it's a chance to get to know each other and plan what our shoot will be. We can also discuss clothes styling, hair and makeup (if needed), location or studio, length of shoot and generally what to expect as well as the cost of the shoot itself, location costs (if any), cost of additional retouching (some retouched images included)--all the details.
Often we may want to communicate further about details of the shoot--clothing, location, schedule etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a photographer I am primarily self-taught but highly experienced in all types of photography, photographic lighting, and digital retouching. My images have appeared in dozens of magazines, calenders, and websites.
